It’s amazing how good we feel when we are learning. Whether it be a new skill, a new attitude or a new hobby we always pick one that is meant for us – we all love to grow! Maybe yours is how to knit, meditate, grow your own herbs, create art or make your own tea/tisanes – have patience and enjoy.
“Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help.
Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind.
Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work.”
William Arthur Ward
Here’s a new hobby we like – blending our own teas and tisanes. Have you tried making your own teas/tisanes? So many garden herbs make great teas and purchased herbs and dried berries can make great blends. Our favorite right now is dried roses, chrysanthemums, and goji berries – calming, cooling and antioxidant all in one – pick your favorite flavours and experiment.
Here are a few resources sites that can help get you started:
- Health Boosting Herbal Teas
- Homemade Herbal Teas
- Making Tea from Plants Grown in the Backyard
- Best Way to Dry Herbs for Tea
And here are a few of the herbs/plants you might want to include:
Basil, thyme, rosemary, rose petals, mint, and oregano, peppermint, marjoram, hyssop, rosemary, raspberry, lavender, fennel, dill, lemon grass, lemon verbena, chrysanthemum flowers, catnip and chamomile.
These herbs and flower can also be added to your green and black tea to add a different flavour. A lot of these plants can be grown indoors making them great for the indoor gardener/tea maker all year around!
These personalised custom blends can make great tea gift packages for your tea loving family and friends – along with a Libre they can enjoy a tea moment and appreciate the peace and relaxation of a custom herbal blend.
From one of our favourite thought leaders…
I am real, and the tea is real.
I am in the present. I don’t think of the past. I don’t think of the future.
There is a real encounter between me and the tea.
and peace, happiness, and joy are possible during the time I drink.
—Thich Nhat Hanh
