The Libre infusers are the BEST! I always have one on me, whether it's for lemon water or tea. There is no greater satisfaction then knowing you are drinking from glass and not plastic. It keeps tea hot for a while, and the cold water cool! It is definitely a must have item! Thanks Libre!!
This is the second one I've had. It keeps my tea hot and had a strainer in the lid for looseleaf tea. It is very sturdy.
Most people reviewing this complaining about leaking is due to not allowing the steam to vent fully before placing the lid on. If you see steam then it still needs to cool off. Its understandable that any cup with lid will leak if it's still warm/hot water with steam coming out of the cup. I just dont see why people complain about leaking, when they dont allow the steam to fully dissipate. If you dont wait then you will have a leak as you would with any closed cup with steam. The steam needs somewhere to vent, if you tighten the lid, it will build pressure since there is no place for the steam to go, hence the leak.
But I use this for Matcha and it works awesome. It even is great for infusing various teas, not just using it for Matcha.
This is perfect for portable Matcha brewing, since you can add the matcha powder right on top of the mesh screen. Just use your finger or back of a spoon to push the powder through. Then pour your right temperature water on the matcha powder in the cup. It's like a portable matcha set in one infuser. The screen does the fine sifting, and then you can shake to mimic the wisk, and its fast.
Just make sure there is no visible steam exiting the cup. Stir the water, if you see steam that means the water needs to vent the steam more. Then you know it's safe to put the lid on, and not have it leak.
Highly recommended if you want Matcha on the go or to infuse other types of tea.
I love this glass!!! Its sleek and effecient. I love that the infuser can be taken off for regular drinks as well.
I absolutely love the Libre tea glasses. I bought mine (14 oz. Black Brush) in the summer of 2015 and have used it constantly since then. It's perfect for those who use loose leaf tea but find tea infusers awkward or unreliable (I find metal infusers constantly loosen and the leaves escape, and the strings/tags of tea bags result in a loose seal on the drinking container and leaks occur). This glass is the perfect solution to that problem: the leaves are contained within the glass, but the filter lid prevents the leaves from being consumed with the tea. Additionally, I love its glass interior, rather than plastic or metal (which always leave weird tastes and smells--glass doesn't do that). Libre does it right. I'm a big fan of their product, and will likely buy a few more glasses!
